In November, 2005, information was requested from the AAPS administration concerning the administration's projections of the operations and maintenance (O&M) budget in light of the New High School. After nearly 3 months of stone-walling (and even a letter containing a thinly-veiled threat from the district's lawyers), the Freedom of Information Act was used to get the data. (Read the history of the request and stonewalling.)

Here are just some of the remarkable emails and other documents (click the blue text to read). Especially note the highlighted portions. This table shows the reasons for the emails as well: B=manipulate the perception of the Board of Education; P=manipulate that of the public; N=manipulate the Ann Arbor News and WAAM; C=involvement of a contractor who has not even been awarded a contract yet; Q=ignoring questions about validity of projections
